In 1988, Kosko presented a class of neural networks, which is called bidirectional associative memory (BAM) neural networks. They have been successfully applied to pattern recognition and automatic control. In this paper, by utilizing a new Lyapunov functional based on the idea of delay fractioning technique together with LMI technique, sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the robust passivity for the uncertain fuzzy Cohen-Grossberg BAM neural networks with time varying delay. The derived criteria have been established in terms of LMIs that can be solved easily by using standard LMI software packages. Finally, a numerical example is presented to illustrate the applicability of the obtained results.
