The authors answer in the negative the following question posed by \textit{J. Motos, M. J. Planells} and \textit{C. F. Talavera} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 338, No. 1, 162--174 (2008; Zbl 1145.46022)]: Are the Banach spaces \(l_{\infty}(l_1)\) and \(l_{1}(l_{\infty})\) isomorphic? In order to do this, they first prove that \(c_{0}(l_1)\) contains no subspace isomorphic to \((\sum_{n=1}^{\infty} l_{\infty}^{n})_{1}\). Then, their result follows from a characterization of the Banach spaces \(X\) containing a subspace isomorphic to \((\sum_{n=1}^{\infty} l_{\infty}^{n})_{1}\) proved by \textit{J. Hagler} and \textit{Ch. Stegall} [J. Funct. Anal. 13, 233--251 (1973; Zbl 0265.46019)].
