The paper is devoted to Bingham fluid problems, when a subdifferential boundary condition is imposed on a part of the boundary, in order to describe the frictional contact. The formulated quasi--static problem leads to a variational inequality. In order to prove the existence theorems, the results already existing in the literature have been reconsidered, under the hypothesis that the functional \(d\), which characterizes the frictional contact, is convex, proper and lower semicontinuous, on a given linear subspace \(U\). The main contribution of the paper ought to be the examples to justify the proposed framework. In the analysed example from the literature, 5.1 and 5.2, the normal speed is zero on the frictional contact boundary. In the examples 5.3, 5.4 and 5.6 listed in the paper, the normal speed is non-zero and consequently the statement \textit{Similar arguments as those used above can be employed \dots in the study of the following examples}, i.e. 5.3, 5.4 and 5.6, is misleading. The linear space \(U\), \(d\) and so on have to be specified.
