The paper under review deals with boundary optimal controls and parameter estimates of solutions to a nonlinear model of dehydration of thermic problems. The authors obtain general formulations for the boundary control for initial boundary value problems for nonlinear partial differential equations modeling the heat transfer and derive necessary optimality conditions for the optimal set of parameters minimizing objective functions. Numerical simulations illustrate the abstract results in this paper. A central role in this numerical appoach is played by the finite element method.
