From the abstract: ``A subgroup \(A\) of a finite group \(G\) is said to be \(S\)-permutably embedded in \(G\) if for each prime \(p\) dividing the order of \(A\), every Sylow \(p\)-subgroup of \(A\) is a Sylow \(p\)-subgroup of some \(S\)-permutable subgroup of \(G\).'' In this paper, the authors consider groups \(G\) where every \(p\)-subgroup of \(G\) is \(S\)-permutably embedded in \(G\), or where every cyclic subgroup of \(G\) of order \(p\) and order \(4\) (if \(p=2\)) is \(S\)-permutably embedded in \(G\). For these cases, they are able to determine structural properties of \(G\). Moreover, they prove the following interesting result (Theorem 2): ``Let \(p\) be a prime. Suppose all maximal subgroups of every Sylow \(p\)-subgroup of a group \(G\) are \(S\)-permutably embedded in \(G\). Then either the Sylow \(p\)-subgroups of \(G\) have order \(p\) or \(G\) is \(p\)-supersoluble.''
