    The authors show that, for each \(f\in W_ 2^{1/2}({\mathbb{R}}^ 3)\), the elliptic equation \[ -\sum^{3}_{i=1}a_ i(x)D^ 2_{x_ i}u(x)+\lambda u(x)=f(x)\quad (x\in {\mathbb{R}}^ 3) \] is solvable in \(W_ 2^{5/2}({\mathbb{R}}^ 3)\). The main tool is \textit{C. Miranda}'s technique [ibid. 63, 353-386 (1963; Zbl 0156.340)].
