The author proves that for \(n\times n\) normal matrices \(A\), \(B\) the spectral distance between \(A\), \(B\) is bounded from above by the spectral norm of \(A-B\) provided that in the complex plane, the eigenvalues of \(A\) lie on a straight line, and the eigenvalues of \(B\) lie on a ray with initial point on this line.
