The authors determine the Busemann \(p\)-compactification of \(X_n =GL(n,C)/U_n\) arising from metrics induced by Schatten \(p\)-norms \[ \left(\sum_{i=1}^n \sigma_i (A)^p\right)^{1/p} \] on the tangent bundle of \(X_n\) where \(\sigma_i (A)\) are the singular values of \(A\in M_n (C)\).
