Evaluation of some infinite series (Q1366930)

By applying Kummer's summation theorem for \({}_2F_1 (a,1- a;c;\frac12)\), the authors evaluate a number of infinite sums in terms of the Riemann zeta and digamma (or psi) function. Many of these sums are related rather closely to those contained in a recent paper by \textit{J. Aular de Durán}, \textit{S. L. Kalla} and \textit{H. M. Srivastava} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 190, 738-754 (1995; Zbl 0827.26006)]. The authors also deduce several special cases of the summation formulas which they have considered in this paper.
