Let \(S\) be the space of all sequences \(\mathbf{s}=\{S_I\}_{I\in {\mathcal D}}\) of complex numbers indexed by a countable set \({\mathcal D}\). Denote by \(\{\mathbf{e}_I\}_{I\in {\mathcal D}}\) the canonical basis for \(S\). Suppose that \(\mathfrak{f}\) is a quasi-Banach lattice embedded in \(S\) with an associated quasi-norm \(\|\cdot\|_{\mathfrak{f}}\). Given a positive measure \(\nu\) on \({\mathcal D}\), the restricted approximation spaces \({\mathcal A}_{\mu}^{\xi}(\mathfrak{f}, \nu)\), \(0<\xi<\infty\), \(0<\mu\leq\infty\), can be defined as the set of all sequences \(\mathbf{s}\in S\) such that \[ \|\mathbf{s}\|_{{\mathcal A}_{\mu}^{\xi}(\mathfrak{f},\nu)}=\left(\int_0^{\infty}[t^{\xi}\sigma_{\nu}(t,\mathbf{s})_{\mathfrak{f}}]^{\mu}\,\frac{dt}{t} \right)^{1/\mu} < \infty, \] (usual modifications if \(\mu = \infty\)), where \[ \sigma_{\nu}(t,\mathbf{s})_{\mathfrak{f}}=\inf_{\mathbf{t}\in\Sigma_{t,\nu}}\|\mathbf{s} - \mathbf{t}\|_{\mathfrak{f}}, \quad \Sigma_{t,\nu}=\{\mathbf{t}=\sum_{I\in\Gamma}t_I\mathbf{e}_{I}\,: \;\nu(\Gamma)\leq t\}. \] It is noted in the abstract ``that embeddings for the spaces \({\mathcal A}_{\mu}^{\xi}(\mathfrak{f}, \nu)\) in terms of weighted Lorentz sequence spaces are equivalent to Jackson and Bernstein type inequalities, and also to the upper and lower Temlyakov property. As applications, we obtain results for wavelet bases in Triebel-Lizorkin spaces by showing the Temlyakov property in this setting. Moreover, new interpolation results for Triebel-Lizorkin and Besov spaces are obtained.''
