A norm one element \(x\) in a real Banach space \(X\) is a compactly locally uniformly rotund point of the unit ball \(B_X=\{x\in X:\| x\| \leq1\}\) if for any sequence \(\{x_n\}\subset B_X\), the condition \(\| x_n+x\| \to2\) implies that \(\{x_n\}\) is relatively compact. If every norm one element of \(X\) is a compactly locally uniformly rotund point of the unit ball \(B_X\), then we say that \(X\) is compactly locally uniformly rotund. The authors give criteria for compactly locally uniformly rotund points and compactly locally uniform rotundity of Orlicz function spaces equipped with the Orlicz and the Luxemburg norms.
