Let \(D\) be a topological closed two-dimensional disk and \(h\) be a homeomorphism from \(D\) onto \(D\). Let Fix\((h)\) denote the set of fixed points of \(h\). The homeomorphism \(h\) is said to have trivial dynamics if the omega limit set of every orbit is included in Fix\((h)\). The main result of the paper says that if \(h\) is orientation-preserving and all fixed points are on the boundary then, for each orbit, the omega limit set is a connected subset of Fix\((h)\), i.e., \(h\) has trivial dynamics. Examples showing the possible configurations of limit sets and why the result cannot be extended to more dimensions are described. The obtained result is applied to a system of the form \(u_i'=u_iF_i(t,u),\;u_i\geq 0,\;i=1,2,3, \) where the functions \(F_i\) are periodic in \(t\) and satisfy certain additional conditions.
