The main purpose of the paper is to study the effect of large magnetic fields on the collision mechanism. The linear Boltzmann collision operators are considered and their effective collision kernels are derived by averaging with respect to the fast cyclotronic motions due to the strong magnetic forces which are applied in thermonuclear fusion experiments in toroidal instruments. The leading order term in the expansion of the distribution function satisfies the space homogeneous Boltzmann equation and does not lead to any current. A more interesting case is offered by the second-order approximation in which there are usual and collisional drifts, too. Now, with this modified collision operator the solution seems to be rather complicated, but the procedure can be simplified a lot by supposing the scattering cross section to be constant. The convergence behaviour of the numerical solution is not influenced by the new collison operator.
