Finite volume methods for the initial value problem for nonhomogeneous scalar conservation laws in one or more spatial dimensions are studied. Thereby, both stiff and non-stiff source terms are discussed. Error estimates between the numerical solution and the entropy solution are obtained which do not depend on the stiffness of the source term in the stiff case.
