This paper is devoted to the problem of quasidiagonalizability of 3-self-adjoint linear operator \(A\) , i.e., \(A\) satisfies the equation \(A^3-3A^*A^2+3(A^*)^2A-(A^*)^3=0\). A theorem due to Helton states that, if both \(A\) and \(A^*\) are 3-self-adjoint, then a special (the so-called Jordan) representation is possible for \(A\). It is shown that the quasidiagonalizability of 3-self-adjoint operator can be established by using the criteria for unitary quasidiagonalizability. Ref. 8 in number.
