The paper presents some interesting results about the operator norm localization property for linear groups GL(\(n, \mathbf{K}\)), where \(\mathbf{K}\) is a field. The main results of the paper are Theorems A and B. Theorem A asserts that, if \(G\) is a countable subgroup GL(\(n, \mathbf{K}\)), then \(G\) has the metric sparsification property and hence also the operator norm localization property. Next, let \(G\) be a finitely generated subgroup of GL(\(n, \mathbf{K}\)) and \(\square G\) be a box space associated to \(G\). Then Theorem B asserts that, for every box space \(\square G\), the coarse Novikov conjecture holds, that is, the coarse Baum-Connes assembly map is injective.
