The paper deals with the problem of complete reducibility of modules for certain infinite-dimensional Lie algebras. Unlike previous studies, the authors relax the condition on \(\mathfrak{h}\)-diagonalizability of objects in the category \(\mathcal{O}\), and instead, they assume decomposition into \(\mathfrak{h}\)-generalized weight spaces and consider the corresponding category \(\tilde{\mathcal{O}}\). Several results are proven within this more general framework. For instance, they prove that any \(\mathfrak{g}\)-module \(M\), where \(\mathfrak{g}\) is an appropriate Kac-Moody Lie algebra, and \(M\) is from the Kac-Wakimoto category \(\tilde{\mathcal{O}}_{adm}\), is \([\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{g}]\)-completely reducible. They also consider a closely related problem of self-extension of representations. This interesting paper also includes several related results for the Virasoro algebra.
