The paper deals with the existence of periodic solutions to the class of impulsive differential equations with infinite delay \[ \dot{x}(t)=f(t,x(t+s)),\qquad s \in (-\infty,0],\quad t \geq 0,\quad t \neq \tau_k, \] \[ x(\tau_k^+)-x(\tau_k)=b_k x(\tau_k), \qquad k =1,2,\ldots, \] where \(\{\tau_k\}_{k=0,1,2,\ldots}\) is a sequence of impulse points tending to infinity, \(f(t,x)\) is a \(T\)-periodic and locally bounded function which is measurable in \(t\) for \(x\) fixed and continuous in \(x\) for each fixed \(t\), and \(\{ b_k \}_{k=1,2,\dots}\) is a sequence of real numbers satisfying appropriate conditions. Solutions are considered in the space of piecewise absolutely continuous functions. An important issue in the procedure is the relation between the solutions to this problem and those for a related nonimpulsive differential equation with infinite delay, which is proved to have a \(T\)-periodic solution under appropriate hypotheses by applying the coincidence degree theory of [\textit{R. Gaines} and \textit{J. L. Mawhin}, Coincidence degree and nonlinear differential equations. Lecture Notes in Mathematics 568, Springer-Verlag (1977; Zbl 0339.47031)]. The results in this reference are also related to those in [\textit{J. Yan} and \textit{A. Zhao}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 227, 187--194 (1998; Zbl 0917.34060)].
