The paper concerns in essence the problem of system reliability. The considerations are confined to a class of linear dynamic stationary systems with randomly varying structure, whose mathematical model includes description of the plant to be controlled, a set of models of controlling subsystems and a parametric set of interconnection equations describing the couplings between the plant and controllers. The problem consists in designing the control system robust with respect to random failures of controllers. Describing the output responses during the transient process (the case under discussion) as series of orthogonal functions of exponential type and taking expectation over random instants of occurrence of failures, the respective algorithm for designing the control system (computing parameters in interconnection equations) is derived, for which the mean value of the output of the plant is guaranteed to belong to the preassumed region. The advantage of the approach is that the synthesis of the control system reduces to solving a system of algebraic inequalities, which can be completed by standard methods. An illustrative example is given.
