    For \(\xi \in {\mathbb R}^n\), \(t \in {\mathbb R}\) and \(f\) from the Schwartz class \({S}({\mathbb R}^n)\) define \((S^2f)(t)\hat{}(\xi) = \exp{(it| \xi| ^2)}\hat f(\xi)\). It is shown that the inequality \[ \int\limits_{{\mathbb R}^n}\| (S^2f)[x]\| ^2_{L^2({\mathbb R})} \frac{dx}{(1+| x| )^b} \leq C \| f\| ^2_{H^{-1/2}({\mathbb R}^n)} \] holds with a constant \(C\) independent of \(f\) if and only if \(b \geq 2\) for \(n \geq 3\) and \(b > 2\) for \(n = 2\). Some generalizations and further problems are also discussed.
