Consider \(k\) copies \(W_0,\ldots,W_{k-1}\) of an \(n\)-gon and label the vertices of \(W_j\), \(j \in \{ 0,\ldots,k-1 \}\), by \(p_{j,i}\), \(i \in \{ 0,\ldots,n-1 \}\). Let \(l_{j,i}\) be the side joining the vertices \(p_{j,i}\) and \(p_{j,i+1}\), where the addition happens modulo \(n\). Consider for each \(j \in \{ 0,\ldots,k-1 \}\) a permutation \(f_j\) of the set \(\{ 0,\ldots,n-1 \}\) which assigns to a side \(l_{j,i}\) of \(W_j\) the vertex \(p_{j+1,f_j(i)}\) of \(W_{j+1}\) which we put on this side (here the addition happens modulo \(k\)). In this way, we obtain a configuration with points the vertices of the given \(n\)-gons and with lines all the sets of the form \(\{ p_{j,i},p_{j,i+1},p_{j+1,f_j(i)} \}\). In the paper, the author constructs and studies configurations of such ``cyclically inscribed \(n\)-gons''. The most regular of these configurations arise from quasi difference sets distinguished in a product of two cyclic groups. The author gives conditions which assure the existence of certain automorphisms and the automorphism groups of configurations arising from quasi difference sets is established.
