Japanese Dedekind domains are excellent (Q2154933)

The main subject of this paper is a generalization of the well-known fundamental identity in number theory, which expresses the degree of an extension of a global field in terms of local information. For an arbitrary Dedekind domain, the fundamental identity is no longer true, but the fundamental inequality holds instead. In this article, the author shows a generalized fundamental identity for arbitrary Dedekind domains. As an application, he shows that any Japanese Dedekind domain is excellent.
