Using a theorem about measurable selections and an implicit function theorem of \textit{O. N. Ricceri} and \textit{B. Ricceri} [Applicable Analysis 38, 259--270 (1990; Zbl 0687.47044)] involving a multivalued Carathéodory type function in \(L_p\) spaces, the existence of a solution of the implicit integral equation \[ g(u(t))=\varphi{\left(t,x_0+\int_0^tf(\tau,u(\tau))dt\right)} \] is proved. The main feature of the result is that \(\varphi\) is not assumed to be continuous but only to coincide almost everywhere with an almost everywhere continuous function. The function \(f\) is supposed to be a Carathéodory function which is uniformly dominated by an integrable function.
