The algebra of events of a quantum system can be described by an orthomodular poset. It is a Boolean algebra iff the events describe a classical (non-quantum) system. In such a case, every two events \textit{commute}, i.e., generate a distributive subalgebra. In the special case of orthomodular lattices, pairwise commutation implies the commutation of the whole finite set of events. This implication does not hold in general orthomodular posets. In-between, there is an interesting class of orthomodular posets with full sets of states, which can be represented by some collections of functions with values in the real interval \([0,1]\), as proved in [\textit{M. J. Maczynski} and \textit{T. Traczyk}, Bull. Acad. Pol. Sci., Sér. Sci. Math. Astron. Phys. 21, 3-8 (1973; Zbl 0265.06003)]. The \textit{algebras of multidimensional probabilities}, studied now, fit to this class of quantum event structures. For them, a theorem is proved which specifies necessary and sufficient commutations relations for a finite system of events to be contained in a Boolean subalgebra.
