General rules are given for the calculation of supersymmetric spherical partition functions of quiver gauge theories. The formalism applies to compact as well as non-compact Kähler manifolds. One key result is the possibility of analyzing the chamber structure and wall-crossings of the GIT quotient moduli spaces in terms of integration contour choices. The paper is organized as follows. Section 1 provides a helpful introduction to the subject matter. Section 2 discusses in general the relation between the spherical partition function of a given gauged linear sigma model (GLSM) and the quantum cohomology. Section 3 contains the main part of this article. It provides a general analysis of abelian GLSMs, starting with projective spaces and then focuses on the so-called quintic, a compact Calabi-Yau 3-dimensional manifold, and the corresponding GLSM as a \(\mathrm{U}(1)\) gauge theory. One important part of this Section is devoted to orbifold Gromov-Witten invariants. Finally, in Section 4 new methods are applied to non-abelian GLSMs. Conclusions are drawn in Sects. 5 and 6 and further directions of research are suggested.
