    Let \({\mathbb M}^m\) be a closed, compact, connected, orientable, \(m\)-dimensional Riemannian manifold with \(C^{\infty}\)-metric \(g_{ij}\). There is considered the Laplace-Beltrami operator \(\Delta w:=g^{-1/2} = \sum_{i=1}^m\sum_{j=1}^m \partial/\partial x^i(g^{1/2} g^{ij}\partial w/\partial x^j)\), where \(g=\det g_{ij}\), its eigenvalues \(\lambda _j\) and eigenfunctions \(F_j\). Then for \(s\in {\mathbb R}\) we have \( H_s({\mathbb M}^m)=\{u\in D^{'}({\mathbb M}^m): \sum_{j=1}^{\infty} \lambda _j^s|\widehat u(j)|^2 < \infty\}\), \(\widehat u(j)=(u,\overline F_j)\). A typical problem of the paper is Problem 2.2'. Given a linearly independent set \(\{u_j\}_{j=1}^N \subset H_{-s} ({\mathbb M}^m)\), complex numbers \(d_j, j=1,2,\dots{},N\) , and a positive definite kernel \(k\in H_{2s}({\mathbb M}^m)\cap C^0({\mathbb M}^m)\), find \(u\in \text{span} (u_1,\dots{},u_N)\) such that \([u,u_j]=d_j\), \(j=1,\dots{},N,\) where \([u,v](\overline v\otimes u,k)\). Its solutions in particular cases are discussed.
