Let \(k\) be an algebraically closed field, \(G\) the linear algebraic group \(\text{GL}_n\) over \(k\), or its Dipper-Donkin quantum analogue. A \(G\)-module is called polynomially injective if it is injective in the category of (finite dimensional) polynomial representations of \(G\). And it is called infinitesimally injective if its restriction to the first infinitesimal subgroup \(G_{\inf}\) is injective. The indecomposable polynomially injective modules are labelled by the partitions with at most \(n\) parts. The main question is now: For which partitions are polynomially injective modules infinitesimally injective? An explicit answer is given for \(n=2\). For general \(n\) certain factorizations of the character of the module become relevant. Therefore the authors study the ``index of divisibility'' of a polynomial module. It tells which power of the determinant divides the character. They also need to investigate the composition factors of the tensor product of several copies of the symmetric algebra of the natural \(G\)-module.
