Let \(\mathcal{G}\) be the complexification of the real Lie algebra \(\mathfrak{so}(3)\) and \(\mathcal A = \mathbb C[t_1^{\pm 1}, t _2^{\pm 1}]\) be the Laurent polynomial algebra with commuting variables. Let \(\mathcal L(t_1, t_2, 1) = \mathcal{G} \otimes_{\mathbb C} \mathcal A\) be the twisted multi-loop Lie algebra. The last two authors [J. Algebra 307, No. 2, 804--828 (2007; Zbl 1172.17015)] have studied the universal central extension, derivations and its vertex operator representations. In the present paper the authors study the automorphism group and bosonic representations of \(\mathcal L(t_1, t_2, 1)\). First they show that every automorphism of \(\mathcal L(t_1, t_2, 1)\) is \(\mathbb Z_2\)-graded and then prove that the automorphism group of \(\mathcal L(t_1, t_2, 1)\) is isomorphic to the semidirect product group \((\mathbb C^{\times}\times\mathbb C^{\times})\rtimes_h\text{GL}_2(\mathbb Z)\), where \(h\) is a group homomorphism from \(\text{GL}_2(\mathbb Z)\) to \(\Aut(\mathbb C^{\times}\times\mathbb C^{\times})\). Moreover, free bosonic fields are used to give a class of faithful representations for the Lie algebra \(\mathcal L(t_1, t_2, 1)\). This class of representations depends on an infinite family of elements from \(\text{SL}_2(\mathbb C)\), and the Lie algebra is realized as differential operators acting on the commutative polynomial algebra \(M = \mathbb C[x_{\mathbf m} : \mathbf m\in \mathbf S]\), \(\mathbf S\) a semilattice. As the Lie algebra \(\mathcal L(t_1, t_2, 1)\) is \(\mathbb Z_2\)-graded, denote the degree derivations by \(d_1\) and \(d_2\), and define \(\mathcal L(t_1, t_2, 1)\) to be the semidirect product of \(\mathcal L(t_1, t_2, 1)\) with \(\mathbb Cd_1 + \mathbb Cd_2\). Then \(M\) can be extended to a \(\mathcal L(t_1, t_2, 1)\)-module. From this module the authors obtain a class of faithful irreducible \(\mathcal L(t_1, t_2, 1)\)-modules.
