The author revisits a proof of a statement by \textit{F. Pérez-González} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 102, No. 3, 577--580 (1988; Zbl 0678.30024)] on a certain joint approximation problem in the Hardy spaces \(H^p\) of the disk (\(1\leq p<\infty\)). As the author notices, the case for \(p=1\) was not covered by Pérez's proof. Henceforth, Danielyan now completes this lacuna, and at the same time provides a simpler proof of the following result: Suppose that the (relatively) closed set \(F\subseteq\mathbb D\) has the property that for any uniformly continuous function \(g\) on \(F\) and any function \(f\in H^p\) for which \(f|_F\) is bounded, there exists a sequence \((p_n)\) of polynomials satisfying \[ \begin{aligned} &(\alpha) \qquad && p_n\to f \text{ weakly}\\ &(\beta) && \lim \Vert p_n-g\Vert_F= \Vert f-g\Vert_F, \end{aligned} \] then one already finds such a sequence of polynomials satisfying \(||p_n-f||_p\to 0\) and \((\beta)\).
