An open subset \(\Omega\) of \(\mathbb{R}^m\) is called an \(L^p\) domain if \(\int u^p (x) dx<\infty\) for every nonnegative superharmonic function \(u\) on \(\Omega\); further, \(\Omega\) is called an \(LP\) domain if \(\Omega\) is an \(L^p\) domain for some \(p>0\). Several kinds of domain are known to be \(LP\) domains; for instance, \textit{F. Maeda} and \textit{N. Suzuki} [Bull. Lond. Math. Soc. 21, 270-278 (1989; Zbl 0645.31005)] have shown that every Lipschitz domain is an \(LP\) domain, with explicit bounds on \(p\). In the present paper a much stronger result is proved: every Hölder domain is an \(LP\) domain. Moreover, for finitely connected planar domains, the converse is true. The paper concludes with some interesting examples.
