A geometric property of Banach spaces related to the fixed point property (Q2367722)

Let \(M\) be a closed convex subset of a Banach space \(X\). The author defines a class of convex subsets \((M\subset X)\) having the so called AMC-property. The above property is more general than the older so called normal structure. The main result is the following: If \(M\in \text{AMC}\), then \(M\) has the fixed point property with respect to nonexpansive mappings.
