Let \(\ell\) be a prime number, and let \(N\) be any positive integer with \((N,\ell)= 1\). The author expresses any holomorphic modular form of nebentypus of level \(N\ell^m\) as an \(\ell\)-adic modular form of level \(N\) (Corollary to Theorem 1). Two methods of proof of Theorem 1 are demonstrated. The first one is a generalization of the arguments of \textit{J.-P. Serre} [Enseign. Math. (2) 22, 227-260 (1976; Zbl 0355.10021); Lect. Notes Math. 350, 191-268 (1973; Zbl 0277.12014)] and \textit{K. A. Ribet} [Proc. Symp. Pure Math. 55, Part 2, 639-676 (1994; Zbl 0822.11034)], the second method uses rigid analysis. Another result of this article is an extension of Ribet's result on \(\text{mod }\ell\) Galois representations for odd characteristics to the case of characteristic 2 (Theorem 2).
