For a surface \(S\) in Euclidean 3-space \(E^3\), the Frenet and Darboux instantaneous rotation vectors for a curve \(\gamma\) on \(S\) are known. If \(\gamma_1\) and \(\gamma_2\) are perpendicular parameter curves on \(S\), then the Darboux instantaneous rotation vectors \(\vec w\), \(\vec w_1\), and \(\vec w_2\) of \(\gamma\), \(\gamma_1\), and \(\gamma_2\), respectively, are related by \(\vec w=\vec w_1\cos\phi+\vec w_2\sin \phi+\vec N\frac{d\phi}{ds}\), where \(\phi\) is the angle between the normal vector \(\vec n\) to \(\gamma\) and the normal vector \(\vec N\) to \(S\). Now, let \(S\) be a timelike surface of Minkowski 3-space \(L^3\). In this paper, the authors prove that for a curve \(\gamma\) and the perpendicular parameter curves \(\gamma_1\) and \(\gamma_2\) on \(S\) the Darboux instantaneous rotation vectors \(\vec w\), \(\vec w_1\), and \(\vec w_2\) of \(\gamma\), \(\gamma_1\), and \(\gamma_2\) are related by \(\vec w=\vec w_1\cosh\phi+\vec w_2\sinh\phi +\vec N\frac{d\phi}{ds}\).
