The authors study the smooth Hamiltonian in the quasi-integrable form \[ H(\varphi, p) = h(p) + \varepsilon f(\varphi, p) \] over the real space. In the framework of \textit{L. C. Evans}' variational principle for approximated weak KAM solutions, see [Calc. Var. Partial Differ. Equ. 17, No. 2, 159--177 (2003; Zbl 1032.37048); Calc. Var. Partial Differ. Equ. 35, No. 4, 435--462 (2009; Zbl 1179.35102)], they propose and prove a theorem for a particular map for an \(\varepsilon > 0\) to be real analytic. First, the authors recall briefly the lines of Evans' approach and define properties that the functions \(h\) and \(f\) should obey. The main theorem relies on these conditions and is followed by several propositions implied by further properties of operators and maps that are introduced in the course of the paper. Finally, they apply the series expansion to the mechanical case, for which the function \(h\) is simply the kinetic energy term and \(f\) a potential: \[ H(\varphi, p) = \tfrac{|p|^2}{2} + \varepsilon f(\varphi). \] They show a sequence of recurrence relations to determine the functions of the perturbative expansion.
