The spirit of representation theory of Lie groups, portrayed in the work of \textit{E. Nelson} on analytic vectors [Ann. Math. (2), 572--615 (1959; Zbl 0091.10704)], looms large in this paper. The paper is well written and is greatly influenced by the results of \textit{R. T. Powers} on unbounded operators [Commun. Math. Phys. 21, 85--124 (1971; Zbl 0214.14102) and Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 187, 261--293 (1974; Zbl 0296.46059)]. A classical result in the theory of Lie groups is that if \(G\) and \(H\) are Lie groups with Lie algebra \({\mathfrak g}\) and \({\mathfrak h}\), then a Lie algebra homomorphism \(\pi: {\mathfrak g}\to{\mathfrak h}\) is exact if \(G\) is connected and simply connected. In this paper the author drops the assumption of simple connectedness and proves that if \(G\) is connected then a Lie algebra homomorphism \(\pi: {\mathfrak g}\to{\mathfrak h}\) is exact if and only if \(\pi\) is completely positive. This paper is a summary of the main results obtained by the author in his dissertation [Matrixordnung in der Lietheorie (Saarbrücken 2004)].
