In this interesting paper, the authors show that if \(\dim _{k}(V)\) is not too large, then \(\ker (g)\) must contain elements \((u_{i})_{i\in I}\) with all but finitely many components \(u_{i}\) nonzero where \(k\) is an infinite field, \(I\) is an infinite set, \(V\) is a \(k\)-vector-space, and \(g:\) \( k^{i}\rightarrow V\) is a \(k\)-linear map. They use these results to prove that every homomorphism from a direct product \(\prod_{I}A_{i}\) of not necessarily assocative algebras \(A_{i}\) onto an algebra \(b,\) where \(\dim _{k}(B)\) is not too large is the sum of a map factoring through the projection of \(\prod_{I}A_{i}\) onto the product of finitely many of the \(A_{i}\), and a map into the ideal \(\{b\in B\left| bB=Bb=\{0\}\right. \}\subseteq B\). Moreover, the authors mention the detailed consequences in the case that \(A_{i}\) are Lie algebras and point out that the above result is also obtained with the field \(k\) replaced by a commutative valuation ring.
