Non-existence of \(n\)-dimensional \(T\)-embedded discs in \(\mathbb R^{2n}\) (English)
The authors prove that there exist no \(C^2\)-smooth embeddings of \(n\)-dimensional discs \(D^n\) to \(\mathbb{R}^{2n}\) such that the tangent spaces at distinct points are pairwise disjoint. This extends a result by \textit{M. Ghomi} [Comment. Math. Helv. 81, 259--270 (2006; Zbl 1156.53302)] that no closed manifold \(M^n\) admits \(T\)-embeddings \((\in C^1)\) to \(\mathbb{R}^{2n}\).
