This paper deals with the long-time behaviour of dynamical systems in an unbounded domain, more precisely, the authors consider parabolic-hyperbolic equations in the infinite domain \(R=(-\infty, +\infty)\) of the form \[ \varepsilon^2 \partial^2_t u(x,t)+ \partial_t u(x,t)= \partial^2_x u(x,t)+U' \bigl(u(x,t)\bigr), \tag{1} \] where \(U(s)={s^2\over 2}-{s^2\over 4}\). A peculiarity of (1) is the absence of regularization. The authors show that on the global attracting set \(A_{gl}\) both the topological entropy per unit length and the topological entropy itself exist. To this end the authors control bounds in bounded domains and use a submultiplicativity argument in \(W^{1,\infty}\). One of the interesting conclusions of the paper is that the complexity of (1) is of the same order as in the parabolic case.
