Given a compact set $D\subset\mathbb{R}^2$, the $n$-th Christoffel function associated with $D$ and a weight function $w\equiv 1$ is $$ \lambda_n(D,x):=\min_{f\in P_n, \ f(x)=1}\int_D f^2(y)\,dy, \qquad x\in D, $$ where $P_n$ is the set of all real algebraic polynomials of total degree at most $n$ in two variables.\par There are several ways to compute the Christoffel functions, one of them is based on comparison of $D$ with other domains for which the behavior of the Christoffel functions is known.\par The authors study domains $D$ with piecewise $C^2$ boundary $\partial D=\cup_{j=1}^m \Gamma_j$, where each $\Gamma_j$ is a $C^2$ arc or curve with the standard parametrization $\varphi_j$. A point $v$ is a corner point of $\partial D$ if $v=\varphi_i(t)=\varphi_l(s)$ and $\varphi_i'(t)\not=\varphi_l'(s)$. This can also happen when $i=l$, $t=0$ and $s=1$. For the set of corner points $\{v_j\}_{j=1}^k$, the corner boundary curves $\Gamma_j^\pm$, and interior angles $\alpha_j$, $j=1,\ldots,k$, are defined in a natural way. In the case when $0<\alpha_j<\pi$, the authors find an explicit expression (up to a constant factor which depends only on $D$) for the $n$-th Christoffel function $\lambda_n(D,x)$ in terms of the distances of $x$ to $\Gamma_j$ and $\Gamma_j^\pm$.
