The Hofer distance is a metric on the space of Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms of a symplectic manifold \((M,\omega).\) It is easy to realize that the Hofer metric is non-negative, symmetric and satisfies the triangle inequality. Though, the proof of its non-degeneracy, i.e., that it is zero only if evaluated on two equal Hamiltonian flows, was awaited for a long time and was found by \textit{F. Lalonde} and \textit{D. McDuff} [Ann. Math. (2) 141, No. 2, 349--371 (1995; Zbl 0829.53025)]. The author of the article under review considers a Euclidean ball in \(\mathbb{R}^{2n}\) equipped with the symplectic structure \(\frac{1}{\pi}\sum_{i=1}^n dx_i \wedge dy_i\) and proves that the space of its Hamiltonian diffeomorphisms equipped with the Hofer distance is an unbounded metric space, meaning that it is not bounded in itself as a set. This result is a generalization of the result of \textit{M. Khanevsky} [J. Topol. Anal. 1, No. 4, 407--416 (2009; Zbl 1205.53082)] where the appropriate theorem is proved for \(n=1,\) i.e., for the disc in \(\mathbb{R}^2\).
