The part of the general program to classify all rational conformal field theories (RCFT) which reduces to the classification of all modular invariant partition functions of a given conformal field theory is considered. The complete set of modular invariants that can be obtained with simple currents, i.e. primary fields whose fusion rules with any other field yield only one term (Schellekens, Yankielowicz, 1989), is presented in the paper for given RCFT with a center (abelian group generated by the fusion of the simple currents) that decomposes into factors \(\mathbb{Z}_ p\), \(p\) prime. This set of invariants, in addition to the fusion rule automorphisms classified previously for any center [cf. the authors, Nucl. Phys. B 353, No. 2, 519-537 (1991)], includes all possible extensions of a chiral algebra that can be obtained with simple currents, for all possible current-current monodromies. The formulas which define the number of invariants of each kind are derived. It is established that the total number of invariants depends only on \(p\) and the number of \(\mathbb{Z}_ p\) factors.
