Let \(\mathcal H_m\) be the class of homogeneous harmonic polynomials of degree \(m\) on \(R^n\). The problem is to characterize functions \(f\) such that the integral \(\int_{\{|y-x|\leq r\}} P(x-y)f(x)dx\) vanishes for all \(P\in\mathcal H_m\). The paper presents several generalizations and analogues of results published earlier by the author [e.g., see Dokl. Akad. Nauk Ukr. SSR, Ser. A 1990, No. 8, 9-11 (1990; Zbl 0766.26005)], by \textit{L. Zalcman} [Am. Math. Mon. 87, No. 3, 161-175 (1980; Zbl 0433.53048)], by \textit{F. John} [``Plane waves and spherical means applied to partial differential equations'' (1995; Zbl 0067.32101)] and by others.
