The author generalizes the Kelvin transform in the context of analysis on matrix spaces (i.e. the analysis that gives a special role to some subgroup of a linear or orthogonal group which can be interpreted as a left action on a space of (rectangular) matrices). Also, the author takes into account the representations of (Euclidean) Jordan algebras. The appropriate theory of harmonic polynomials (called Stiefel harmonics) was developed by the author in [J. Reine Angew. Math. 423, 47-71 (1991; Zbl 0749.17042)].
