Let \(g\) and \(\bar g\) be two Riemannian metrics on a manifold \(M\). These Riemannian metrics are projectively (or geodesically) equivalent if each geodesic in \((M,g)\) is a geodesic in \((M,\bar g)\), with possibly different parametrization, i.e. \((M,g)\) admits a geodesic mapping onto \((M,\bar g)\). In this paper it is proved by using an asymptotic estimation of the elliptic partial differential equations, that the pointwise projective equivalence is trivial, if \((M,g)\) is a noncompact complete manifold, which has at most quadratic volume growth and nonnegative scalar curvature, and \((M,\bar g)\) has a nonpositive Ricci curvature.
