This paper outlines how the methods developed by \textit{A. Fischer} and \textit{J. Marsden} [Isolated gravitating systems in general relativity. On pp. 322-395 of J. Ehlers (ed.), Proc. int. school phys. Enrico Fermi Course XVII, North-Holland, Amsterdam (1979)] and \textit{A. Fischer, J. Marsden} and \textit{V. Moncrief} [Ann. Inst. Henri Poincaré, Nouv. Sér. Sect. A 33, 147-194 (1980; Zbl 0454.53044)] for general relativity are being used to show that classical \(N=1\) supergravity, as a non-linear system of partial differential equations, is linearization stable at any solution which lacks Killing symmetry (of both the vierbein and the gravitino), and hence the solution space is locally a manifold there. It is assumed throughout that the underlying spacetime is topologically the cartesian product of the real line with a compact, spacelike, boundaryless three-dimensional Cauchy surface.
