Let B be the unit ball in \({\mathbb{C}}^ n\) and \({\tilde \Delta}\) the invariant Laplacian in B. For every \(\lambda\in {\mathbb{C}}\), denote by \(X_{\lambda}\) the space of all \(f\in C^ 2(B)\) such that \({\tilde \Delta}\)f\(=\lambda f\). Each eigenspace \(X_{\lambda}\) is closed with respect to the topology of uniform convergence on compact subsets of B and is Aut(B)-invariant, i.e. \(f\in X_{\lambda}\), \(\psi\in Aut(B)\Rightarrow f\circ \psi \in X_{\lambda}\) [the author, Function theory in the unit ball in \({\mathbb{C}}^ n\) (1980; Zbl 0495.32001)]. The present paper is devoted to the complete description of all closed Aut(B)-invariant subspaces of \(X_{\lambda}\) called \({\mathcal M}\)-spaces for brevity. It is proved that if \(\lambda =4m(m+n)\) for some integer \(m\geq 0\), then \(X_{\lambda}\) contains four nontrivial \({\mathcal M}\)-spaces (three when \(n=1)\). For all other \(\lambda\in {\mathbb{C}}\), \(\{\) \(0\}\) and \(X_{\lambda}\) are the only \({\mathcal M}\)-spaces of \(X_{\lambda}\) (Theorem 3.1).
