Let K/k be a finite Galois extension, and let \(\nu_{K/k}\) denote the Scholz's number knot of \(K/k\). \textit{K. Miyake} [Nagoya Math. J. 93, 133- 148 (1984; Zbl 0502.12008)] studied the existence of abundant central extensions of K/k and central solutions of \(\nu_{K/k}\) with trivial genera, and gave sufficient conditions \(C(m)\) and \(C'(m)\) for the existence of such central extensions, respectively. In the first part of the paper the author gives conditions \(\tilde C(m)\) and \(\tilde C'(m)\) which are weaker than \(C(m)\) and \(C'(m)\), respectively, and proves that these are necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of abundant central extensions of \(K/k\) with trivial genera and Scholz's solutions of \(\nu_{K/k}\) with trivial genera, respectively. The proof uses the pull-back and push-out diagrams. In the second part of the paper the author studies the familiarity of central extensions and proves that two abundant central extensions of \(K/k\) with trivial genera are of the same genus, and so are two Scholz's solutions of \(\nu_{K/k}\) with trivial genera.
