The paper concerns a new integral representation theorem for powers of elements (\(i.r.t.p.e.\), in short) in the context of unital sequentially complete locally \(m\)-convex algebras, satisfying a certain condition. This condition is fulfilled if the topological algebra is, moreover, a \(Q\)-algebra. Using the \(i.r.t.p.e.\), the author gives new proofs for some standard results concerning for instance, the non-emptiness of the local spectrum and the Beurling type formula of the spectral radius. In [Pac.\ J.\ Math.\ 49, 79--91 (1973; Zbl 0237.46051)], \textit{J.\,R.\thinspace Giles} and \textit{D.\,O.\thinspace Koehler} extended the concepts of numerical range and the respective radius from the normed algebra context to the locally \(m\)-convex one. In this framework, the author gives one more application of the \(i.r.t.p.e\). More precisely, a new proof of a generalization of \textit{H.\,F.\thinspace Bohnenblust} and \textit{S.\,Karlin}'s theorem [Ann.\ Math.\ (2) 62, 217--229 (1955; Zbl 0067.35002)] is given. This concerns upper and lower bounds of the numerical radius in a unital complete locally \(m\)-convex algebra. The new proof is independent of the normed algebra setting.
