This work aims at explaining the deformation cohomology of a Lie algebroid by certain cohomology theories. First, one needs the jet bundle of a Lie algebroid, which is again a Lie algebroid and has a natural representation on the original Lie algebroid. Then, forming the standard complex that arises from this representation, this turns out to be exactly the deformation theory of Lie algebroids.
