Let \(\mathbb{D}\) be the open unit disk in the complex plane and \(H(\mathbb{D})\) be the space of all analytic functions on \(\mathbb{D}\). Through composition, an analytic self-map \(\varphi\) of \(\mathbb{D}\) induces the classical linear composition operator \(C_{\varphi}\) defined by \[ C_{\varphi}: H(\mathbb{D}) \to H(\mathbb{D}), \; f \mapsto f \circ \varphi. \] The authors are interested in composition operators acting in the following setting. For every sequence \(\beta=(\beta_n)_n\) of positive numbers, the weighted Hardy space \({\mathcal H}^2(\beta)\) consists of all analytic functions \( f(z)= \sum_{n=0}^{\infty} a_n z^n\) on \( \mathbb{D}\) with \[ \|f\|_{\beta}:= \left ( \sum_{n=0}^{\infty} |a_n|^2 \beta_n^2 \right )^{\frac{1}{2}} < \infty. \] Under the assumption that the classical Hardy space is continuously embedded in \({\mathcal H}^2(\beta)\) and that \(\varphi\) is a disk automorphism, the authors are able to give a lower and an upper estimate (which are not identical) for the norm of the operator \(C_{\varphi}: {\mathcal H}^2(\beta) \to {\mathcal H}^2(\beta)\). It remains an open problem to compute the exact norm of a composition operator, even in the classical Hardy space.
